DVD GUIDE HELPS IN BEATING GAMES
Now this is just plain smart. GameTime Entertainment (http://www.gametimemedia.com) is setting out to revolutionize the way we cheat, er, consult with gaming reference materials.
GameTime is releasing game-play guides on DVD. The guides feature audio and video explanations of how to pass those tricky game areas. Instead of flipping through page after page of screen shots in your paper guide, pop in a GameTime DVD and let the experts show and tell you how to beat the games.
The DVD guide for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 for Xbox walks players through every game area on the Veteran difficulty setting. You'll watch video of successful game play while the narrator offers strategy tips. It doesn't get much easier.
The DVD guide -- or dvG, as GameTime calls it -- of Rainbow Six 3 is the first of many planned by the company. It's available through retailers such as Best Buy, Game Stop and Amazon, as well as video stores Blockbuster and Hollywood Video. It costs $14.99, about the same as paper guides.
